The humble beginnings of Me Not U Records can be traced to January 2001 when DJ Swagz and Notorious NIP created the record company to release their debut album Elmer's Asphalt. The original member included DJ Swagz, Notorious NIP, Rabby, and Albe. Just 2 months later, Notorious NIP left Me Not U Records to join the Milwaukee based Slaughterhouse records and become part of the Fab 4. Before the Me Not U, Slaughterhouse fallout in January 2002, Sir Law, DJ Swagz, and Slaughterhouse founder Henzebomb joined forces to create the song "Thicker Than Water." For more than a year, Me Not U Records lived off the success of Elmer's Asphalt with such hits as "Bitch Please III" and "Homies Lament." But then on January 6, 2002 events hit Me Not U Records that shook the company's foundation, the president, DJ Swagz, stepped down. No one could be sure about the stability of the company and what would become of it, but then 2 days later, Sir Law was appointed as president by the departing DJ Swagz. Sir Law's first act as president came on January 20, 2002, a day that would change Me Not U forever. On January 20, 2002 Sir Law signed Ben Anderson with Me Not U to become the publisher for his book, "No Perfect Crime." With this new venture, Me Not U Records became Me Not U Entertainment...but this is not the end...it's only the beginning...
